2027: Plateau will deliver one million votes for Tinubu — APC chair

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that Plateau State will deliver over one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Yilwatda attributed the projection to what he described as the ruling party’s strengthened political structure and the weakening of opposition forces across the state.

The APC chairman spoke on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting of the party in the Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency, held in Pankshin, Plateau State.

According to him, the APC has grown significantly stronger in Plateau since the 2023 general election, noting that political challenges faced by the party in the last election cycle have largely been resolved.

“All the stumbling blocks we had in 2023 are no longer there. Those who opposed us then have now aligned with the APC,” Yilwatda said.

He further claimed that key political actors in the state, including Governor Caleb Mutfwang, commissioners, local government chairmen and other political appointees, have pitched their tents with the ruling party.

“With this level of unity and support, Plateau State will deliver one million votes for Mr President in 2027,” he added.

Yilwatda also described the PKK Federal Constituency as a traditional stronghold of the APC, recalling that President Tinubu recorded some of his highest vote totals in the area during the 2023 presidential election.

He urged party members to remain united and committed to strengthening the APC ahead of the next general election.
