Yusuf Dantalle Retains IPAC Chairmanship in Unopposed Re-Election

Yusuf Dantalle has been re-elected as the national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for another two-year term.

The election, held on Monday in Abuja, saw Dantalle reclaim the chairmanship unanimously after his only contender, Kenneth Udeze of the Action Alliance, withdrew from the contest. Dantalle also serves as the national chairperson of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

IPAC, the umbrella organisation for all registered political parties in Nigeria, also announced other elected officers. Zainab Ibrahim was elected deputy national chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem as national secretary, and Maryam Garba Bagel as deputy national secretary. The executive team includes Dipo Olayoku (national treasurer), Chinyere Kalu (national organising secretary), Umar Mohammed (national financial secretary), Martins Egbeola (national publicity secretary), and Obed Agu (national legal adviser).

Speaking after the election, Dantalle described the outcome as a “victory for sustainable democracy and development within IPAC and across the nation.”

He added that his administration would continue to focus on inclusivity, highlighting the establishment of directorates for women, youth, and persons with disabilities. “IPAC will keep growing from strength to strength as we work with stakeholders and citizens to build a united, equitable, and vibrant democratic nation,” he said.
