50 Abducted Niger Pupils Regain Freedom, Return Home Quietly

Fifty pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, Papiri in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, have regained their freedom.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state confirmed the development yesterday, saying the children escaped from captivity and reunited with their families between Friday and Saturday.
In a statement issued by its state chairman and Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, CAN said the pupils “quietly found their way back home” after days in the hands of their abductors.
The bishop, while expressing gratitude over their safe return, appealed for sustained prayers for security agencies and communities facing persistent attacks.
Details of the escape were still sketchy at press time.
More updates are expected.
