Aregbesola Revalidates ADC Membership, Flags Off Nationwide Registration

Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has revalidated his membership of the party in Ilesa, Osun State, as the ADC commenced its nationwide Membership Registration and Revalidation Exercise.

Aregbesola said he aligned with the ADC because it is anchored on Character, Courage, Competence, Discipline and Integrity—values he described as essential for rescuing Nigeria from its current challenges.

He condemned the recent attack in Kwara where gunmen invaded a church, killed worshippers and abducted others, stressing that Nigeria needs a political platform committed to ethical governance to halt the worsening insecurity. The development was contained in a statement made available to journalists by Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun, Chairman, Directorate of Media and Publicity, ADC, Osun State.

Aregbesola, who carried out the exercise at Ward 8, Ifofin, in Ilesa East Local Government Area, was joined by members of the ADC Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee led by its Secretary, Senator Sodiq Yaradua, alongside party stakeholders and dignitaries.

Senator Abubakar Sodiq Yaradua, who serves as the National Chairman of the ADC Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation and Registration Committee, revealed that the new ADC membership card contains 12 security features designed to prevent duplication and protect party records. He added that Aregbesola was the first person in the country to be revalidated under the enhanced system.

He further disclosed that an online platform will soon be deployed to ease membership registration for Nigerians across all wards.

The Osun State Chairman of the Membership Committee, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi, later performed the formal revalidation of Aregbesola at the event.
