Anambra govt urges APGA supporters to reject Peter Obi in 2027

The Anambra State Government has urged supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to reject former governor and presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, in the 2027 general election.

The call was contained in a post on the official X account of the state government, managed by Governor Charles Soludo’s New Media office, on Monday.

The government accused Obi of working against APGA since leaving office, while claiming that President Bola Tinubu had supported the party.

In a graphic directed at Obi, the state government described him as a “betrayal” to APGA and urged the party’s supporters to defend it ahead of the 2027 election.

“A betrayal alert for Ndi APGA. Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him,” the government stated.

It further alleged that Obi supported opposition interests in 2015, while Tinubu stood with APGA.

“Do not be deceived by a man who abandoned his own house. Anambra is APGA. Ndi APGA, defend your home, resist the NDC,” the government said.

Obi governed Anambra State from 2006 to 2013 and is seeking the presidency on the NDC platform in th

e 2027 election.
