The 30-year-old Mali international became a free agent after Tottenham released him in June. His contract with Ajax includes an option to extend his stay for a further 12 months, according to BBC Sport.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff said the club had been in discussions with Bissouma since August and expressed confidence in the midfielder’s experience.
“We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level. He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible,” Cruyff said.
Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 and made 111 appearances for the North London club.
However, his time at Spurs was affected by disciplinary and fitness issues. In August 2025, then-manager Thomas Frank left him out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain because of persistent lateness.
Bissouma made just 11 appearances for Tottenham in his final season, all in the Premier League, as the club finished 17th for the second consecutive campaign.
His move to Ajax provides the midfielder with an opportunity to return to regular football and continue his career in the Netherlands.
