Igbokwe described Adeleke’s move from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Accord Party as an “unbelievable mistake,” arguing that the governor should have defected to the APC.
The APC chieftain stated this in a post on his official Facebook page.
He wrote, “Governor Adeleke made an unbelievable mistake when he left PDP to the Accord Party instead of joining APC knowing fully well that PBAT has a family link with Osun State Nigeria.”
Adeleke, who was elected governor on the PDP platform in 2022, is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party after leaving the PDP.
The governor has, however, accused agents of the Federal Government of intimidating and harassing his supporters ahead of the election.
Adeleke recently alleged that some of his supporters had been arrested and killed in what he described as attempts to frustrate his re-election bid.
He also accused some Federal Government institutions of being used to undermine his campaign ahead of Saturday’s poll.
