In a post on X on Thursday, Wakili cited what he described as instances of constitutional violations, including the suspension of a sitting governor, the continued detention of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, and the reported freezing of the Osun State Government’s accounts.
According to him, the President had acted contrary to constitutional provisions without being held accountable.
“Bola Tinubu suspended a sitting governor, and nothing happened. He got away with it, regardless of what the Constitution says,” Wakili wrote.
He also claimed that El-Rufai had remained in detention for 170 days over what he described as a bailable offence, alleging that no explanation had been given to the public for 50 of those days.
Wakili further referenced the reported freezing of Osun State Government accounts, arguing that no one had successfully challenged the action.
The commentator went on to allege that the President could determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election without consequences.
“Bola Tinubu could write his own election result in 2027, and nothing will happen. We will simply continue living our lives,” he stated.
He also alleged that if the President sought a third term, the National Assembly would approve it, accusing opposition lawmakers of lacking the resolve to resist such a move.
“If he wants a third term, I strongly believe he can get it. The Senate will pass the bill, the House of Representatives will approve it, and the cowards you celebrate in the opposition as legislators will shout ‘AYE’ at the top of their voices… And nothing is going to happen,” Wakili wrote.
The remarks reflect Wakili’s personal opinions and allegations. As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not responded to the claims.
