Popular political singer Kosan Waka dies at 47

Popular political singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka, has died at the age of 47.

 

The singer died on Sunday, according to his family, and is scheduled to be buried at 5 p.m. in Tsanni Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

 

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, expressed sadness over the singer’s death in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

 

The governor extended his condolences to the deceased’s mother, family, friends, associates, fans and the people of Kano State.

 

He described Kosan Waka as “a Kano-based patriotic son of Katsina whose music transcended politics and served as a powerful tool for promoting unity, culture and public enlightenment.”

 

Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah to forgive the late singer’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family the strength to bear the loss.

 

Kosan Waka gained nationwide recognition for his political songs and performances, becoming one of the most prominent voices in Hausa political music.

 

The Kano State Government said his contributions to political communication and the Hausa entertainment industry would be remembered.

 

Governor Yusuf also joined members of the entertainment industry and Nigerians in mourning the late singer, praying that Allah grants him eternal rest.
