2027: Peter Obi Unhappy Over OK Movement Crisis, Says Kwankwaso’s Spokesman

A spokesman for former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ladipo Johnson, has disclosed that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, is unhappy over the leadership crisis rocking the OK Movement.

 

Johnson made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television, where he acknowledged the existence of tensions within the movement but described the situation as a temporary distraction rather than a major threat to its political objectives.

 

According to him, the disagreement has diverted attention from efforts to strengthen the movement’s structure across the country ahead of the 2027 general election.

 

He attributed the crisis to differences between some members and the leadership of the movement, warning against actions capable of creating divisions among supporters of the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso political alliance.

 

Johnson said such developments could undermine efforts to build a formidable political alternative for the 2027 polls.

 

He also revealed that Peter Obi had been briefed on the dispute and was dissatisfied with the situation.

 

“Yes, we have, may I call it a distraction at the moment. It is not such, in my own humble opinion, that would lead you to take unilateral actions that could possibly scuttle or bring bad blood within the support base of the person you purportedly want to become the president of the country.

 

“I saw the presidential candidate last night along with the DG. He’s not happy about the whole situation,” Johnson said.
