Makinde Visits Rescued Oyo Pupils, Teachers at Military Hospital

The victims were abducted by gunmen on May 15, 2026, in Oriire Local Government Area of the state and spent more than 50 days in captivity before they were rescued.

The Federal Government announced their release on Friday, with the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirming that security agencies successfully secured the freedom of all the victims.

During the visit, Makinde assessed their condition and offered support as they continued to receive care at the military facility.

The rescue of the pupils and teachers has attracted widespread reactions, with calls for sustained efforts to secure the release of other Nigerians still being held captive across the country.
