Hope Restored: Oke Praises Tinubu, Security Agencies Over Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

The Director-General of the Osun State APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation’s security agencies over the successful rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State after spending 56 days in captivity.

Oke described the rescue as a significant breakthrough in the country’s fight against insecurity, saying it reflected the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians through intelligence-led operations and improved collaboration among security agencies.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Senior Media Aide, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, the APC chieftain said the successful operation, carried out without further loss of innocent lives, had restored hope and strengthened public confidence in the capacity of the nation’s security institutions to respond effectively to security threats.

According to him, the development further demonstrated President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to addressing insecurity and ensuring that criminal elements have no safe haven anywhere in the country.

He also commended the President for approving the deployment of additional forest guards, describing the initiative as a proactive measure that would strengthen security across forests and rural communities often exploited by criminal gangs.

Oke praised the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies involved in the rescue operation for their professionalism, resilience and patriotism.

He said: “The successful rescue of these innocent schoolchildren and their teachers after 56 days in captivity is a testament to what can be achieved through purposeful leadership, strategic coordination and the dedication of our security personnel. It has renewed hope that Nigeria can overcome its security challenges.”

While rejoicing with the rescued victims and their families, Oke expressed sympathy to the family of the school principal who lost his life during the unfortunate incident, praying that God would grant them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that effective security requires active collaboration between government and citizens.

The APC campaign council Director-General also called on the Osun State Government to draw lessons from the successful operation by investing more in intelligence gathering, strengthening community-based security initiatives and ensuring that available security resources are deployed effectively to protect the lives and property of residents.

Reaffirming the commitment of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the safety of the people, Oke said the party’s governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would prioritise security and create an environment where residents could live, work and carry out their lawful activities without fear if elected governor.
