The State Director of NOA, Adebiyi Adefarasin Stephen, made the call on Tuesday during an advocacy visit to the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, as part of the agency’s voter education and peace mobilisation efforts.
Adefarasin said the engagement was aimed at involving traditional institutions in promoting peaceful civic participation and encouraging responsible conduct before, during and after the governorship election.
He described traditional rulers as key partners in community mobilisation, noting their influence in promoting civic responsibility, national values and peaceful coexistence at the grassroots.
“The people of Osun State should remain security conscious in view of the current security realities in the country. We urge residents to embrace peaceful coexistence and active civic participation,” he said.
The NOA delegation included Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers (COMOs) from Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Government Areas, as well as the second-in-command of the WAI Brigade, Osun State Command.
The agency also sensitised the palace on its National Values Charter, a programme designed to promote patriotism, responsible citizenship and national unity.
Responding, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama commended the NOA leadership for the advocacy initiative and pledged the support of the Kuta Kingdom towards ensuring a peaceful, credible and values-driven governorship election in Osun State.
The monarch also appealed to the Federal Government to prioritise funding for the agency through first-line charge to enable it to effectively carry out its mandate.
The advocacy visit is part of NOA’s ongoing engagement with stakeholders across Osun State to strengthen voter education, promote national values and encourage peaceful participation ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
