Osun Guber: APC Storms Oriade, Unveils Army of Unit Canvassers to Boost AMBO’s Campaign

The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday intensified its grassroots campaign ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, inaugurating hundreds of Unit Canvassers across Ira, Ikeji-Ile, Ikeji-Arakeji, Dagbaja and Apoti communities in Oriade Local Government Area in what the party described as a strategic move to consolidate support for its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The Senior Media Aide to the Director-General of the Osun State Governorship Campaign Council, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, disclosed this in a statement, saying the inauguration signalled another major milestone in the party’s grassroots mobilisation drive and underscored the APC’s determination to reach every household and polling unit before the election.

The event drew a large crowd of party leaders, loyalists, supporters and volunteers, with the campaign organisation describing the turnout as a reflection of the growing acceptance of the APC across Oriade Local Government and the increasing momentum behind the AMBO governorship project.

Addressing the gathering, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, described the Unit Canvassers as the engine room of the party’s grassroots operation, saying they had been entrusted with the responsibility of taking the APC’s campaign message directly to voters across communities in the state.

According to him, the canvassers will serve as the party’s frontline mobilisers, ensuring effective voter education, participation and support for the APC on election day.

Among party leaders present at the inauguration were the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Prince Benjamin Adereti Kayode; Director-General for Osun East, Prince Thomas Ogungbangbe; State Women Leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde; Chairman of the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency Campaign Committee, Barr. Nathaniel Agunbiade; Co-Chairman, Professor Siji Olamiju, as well as several other chieftains and stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, Prince Ogungbangbe urged the canvassers to remain committed to the assignment, insisting that sustained grassroots mobilisation would be crucial to securing victory for the APC candidate.

Also addressing the gathering, Barr. Agunbiade expressed confidence in the capacity of the newly inaugurated canvassers to deliver the party’s message to every eligible voter, urging them to remain dedicated and disciplined throughout the campaign.

The campaign organisation commended party members and supporters for their commitment and expressed confidence that the growing wave of mobilisation across Osun State would culminate in victory for the APC and its governorship candidate at the August 15 poll.
