In a statement, the club said the 41-year-old Englishman will officially assume his duties on Thursday, July 9, when the team’s pre-season training begins.
Rosenior replaces Antoine Kombouaré, who took charge in February and guided the Paris-based club away from the relegation zone to an 11th-place finish, recording notable victories over Monaco and league champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Explaining the change, the club said, “Following this season and after discussions between all parties involved, it was decided to bring this collaboration to an end in order to open a new chapter in the club’s history.”
The appointment marks Rosenior’s third managerial role in less than a year. He was dismissed by Chelsea in April after spending fewer than four months in charge, having previously left Strasbourg, where his attacking style of football helped the French side secure a top-half finish in Ligue 1.
Welcoming the new manager, Paris FC described Rosenior as one of the brightest coaching talents in the game.
“Aged 41, Liam Rosenior already has a wealth of experience at the highest level. He has quickly established himself as one of the most promising coaches of his generation,” the club said.
Antoine Arnault, representing the Arnault family, which owns Paris FC, also expressed confidence in Rosenior’s appointment.
“My family and I are delighted to welcome Liam to our club and to see him return to our league here in France. I have always been impressed by his philosophy of play and by what he has built with his teams, which often consist of young players,” Arnault said.
