Oyebanji visits ADC governorship candidate, seeks collaboration after Ekiti poll

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in the June 20 election, Ambassador Dare Bejide, as part of efforts to promote unity and inclusive governance.

The visit, which took place at Bejide’s residence in Ado-Ekiti, was in fulfilment of the governor’s pledge to reach out to all candidates who participated in the governorship election and seek their support and contributions to the development of the state.

Oyebanji was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe.

During the visit, the governor and the ADC candidate held discussions on issues relating to the development of Ekiti State.

Following the official declaration of the election results, Oyebanji had contacted both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr Wole Oluyede, and the ADC candidate by telephone, promising to pay them personal visits.

The governor had earlier visited Oluyede at his residence alongside some leaders of the PDP before Monday’s meeting with Bejide.

According to the state government, the governor’s post-election consultations are aimed at fostering unity, peace, mutual respect and inclusive governance as part of efforts to promote sustainable development in Ekiti State.
