Bandits kill Chief Imam, two others in Sokoto

Bandits have killed the Chief Imam of Talluje village and two other residents during coordinated attacks on communities in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

 

The attacks, which targeted Talluje and another community in the Danchadi District, reportedly lasted for about two hours, with the assailants shooting indiscriminately before fleeing with an unspecified number of rustled livestock.

 

The latest incident brings to three the number of chief imams reportedly killed in the area within the past few weeks, raising fresh concerns over the worsening security situation.

 

A community leader in Danchadi said the attacks began around 4:00 p.m. and lasted until about 6:00 p.m.

 

“The attacks started around 4:00 p.m. and continued until about 6:00 p.m. The bandits killed the Chief Imam of Talluje and two other persons whose identities have yet to be confirmed,” the community leader said.
