AbdulRazaq pledges improved working environment for Kwara judiciary

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the working environment for judicial officers as he inspected the ongoing construction of the Justice Saidu Kawu Court House in Ilorin.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the multi-storey judicial complex, describing the project as part of efforts to strengthen the administration of justice through improved infrastructure.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Agboola.

Speaking during the inspection, AbdulRazaq said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to providing modern facilities for the judiciary.

“The work is progressing very well. This is the main building of the courthouse. We are committed to giving the judiciary a better working environment,” the governor said.

He added that the administration is determined to deliver a judicial complex that meets modern standards and enhances justice delivery across the state.

“We have seen what His Excellency Nyesom Wike has done for the judiciary, and we are also building a remarkable edifice that will provide a conducive environment for judicial officers. We are focused on raising the standard.

“Judges should not be working in substandard offices and infrastructure. We are setting a benchmark that can be emulated in other parts of the country,” he said.

The Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, who accompanied the governor on the inspection, commended the administration for investing in judicial infrastructure.

“I am highly impressed and delighted with what I have seen. On behalf of the Kwara State Judiciary, I appreciate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the remarkable work he is doing for the judiciary,” he said.

Adebara noted that the project would consolidate courts currently scattered across Ilorin, creating a central judicial headquarters and improving the efficiency of justice delivery.

“When this project is completed, we will have a compact judicial headquarters in Ilorin. Other court facilities will be freed up to accommodate more judges, and the administration of justice will become more efficient. We sincerely thank His Excellency for this intervention,” he said.

The Justice Saidu Kawu Court House is one of the flagship judicial infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Kwara State Government to modernise court facilities and strengthen the state’s justice system.
