World Cup 2026: Zlatan Ibrahimovic names 5 best players

Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimović has named his five best footballers in the world, praising the attacking talent in the France national team.

Speaking as a pundit on Fox Sports after France’s 3-0 victory over Sweden in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday, Ibrahimović selected Ousmane Dembélé, Kylian Mbappé, Michael Olise, Erling Haaland and Lamine Yamal.

“Take the five best players in the world. Three of them are in France’s attack – Dembélé, Olise and Mbappé,” the former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United forward said.

He then added Spain’s Lamine Yamal and Norway’s Erling Haaland to complete his list.

Ibrahimović, however, singled out Argentina captain Lionel Messi for special recognition, saying the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner belongs in a category of his own.

“Yamal and Haaland. Messi is in his own class. But three of the top five are in this attack. It’s not easy to make that combination,” he said.
