In a statement issued on Thursday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the document titled “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far” did not emanate from the party and should be disregarded.
“The list is fake and did not emanate from the Party,” Morka said.
He stressed that the APC had not released any such list and warned against the spread of unverified information capable of misleading party members and the public.
According to him, only the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has the authority to announce candidates emerging from its primary elections and other constitutionally prescribed processes through officially approved communication channels.
The party urged members, stakeholders, media organisations and the general public to ignore the publication in its entirety.
The APC also expressed concern over the circulation of false information, warning that such actions could create confusion and undermine confidence in the party’s internal democratic processes.
“We urge all Party members and stakeholders to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion, misleading the public or undermining the integrity of the Party’s democratic processes,” the statement added.
