APC must unite to secure victory in Osun — Oyintiloye warns ahead of poll

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on party members to put aside internal disagreements and work in unity ahead of the August 15 governorship election in the state.

Oyintiloye made the appeal on Sunday in Osogbo while addressing journalists, warning that unresolved grievances and internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances at the polls.

According to him, the APC cannot afford to approach the election as a fractured group, stressing that unity remains critical to achieving electoral success.

“The governorship election is fast approaching, and there is an urgent need for us to come together as one big family,” he said. “There is no doubt that some party members may be aggrieved for one reason or another, but such grievances should be urgently addressed to further cement our impending victory.”

He added that internal reconciliation was necessary to prevent anti-party activities and bitterness capable of undermining the party’s campaign.

Oyintiloye maintained that every issue threatening cohesion within the party must be resolved without delay, insisting that the APC remained confident of victory.

Describing the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, as “marketable” and capable of winning the election, he urged members to rally behind him fully.

He also expressed optimism that the APC would reclaim power in Osun State, citing the support of key party leaders, including Bisi Akande, former governor of the state; Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Ajibola Basiru, APC national secretary; and former national secretary Iyiola Omisore.

Oyintiloye further urged party stakeholders to remain focused and avoid statements or actions that could deepen divisions within the party, saying voters were ready to return the APC to power.
