The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Sunday Abutu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti.
Abutu said Ogunleye regained her freedom following a joint rescue operation involving the police, military, other security agencies and local security personnel.
According to him, sustained pressure mounted by security operatives on the suspected kidnappers led to the successful rescue of the council vice chairman.
He added that the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Falade Adegoroye, had ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
The police spokesperson said the investigation is aimed at determining the circumstances surrounding the abduction and ensuring those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted.
