Mourinho agrees to return to Real Madrid

José Mourinho is set for a return to Real Madrid after reportedly reaching a verbal agreement to become the club’s new manager.

According to reports, the Portuguese tactician has agreed to an initial two-year deal with the Spanish giants, pending the completion and signing of official documents.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Monday via X that Mourinho is expected to travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s final La Liga game against Athletic Bilbao to conclude the remaining formalities before an official announcement.

“All terms have been verbally agreed between José Mourinho and Real Madrid, waiting to sign all documents. Plan for initial two-year deal, JM to travel to Madrid after Real-Bilbao game. The Special One is back,” Romano posted.

If confirmed, the appointment would mark Mourinho’s second spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, having previously managed the club between 2010 and 2013.

During his first stint, Mourinho won the La Liga title, Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

Real Madrid are yet to officially confirm the development.
