BREAKING: Former Ondo Governor Olusegun Mimiko joins APC

Former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mimiko announced his defection on Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Ondo City, where he was received by the state chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, alongside party leaders and supporters.

He is the first governor in Ondo State’s history to serve two terms.

His move to the APC follows the earlier defection of several of his political associates in 2025, a development widely seen as a gradual realignment that preceded his formal entry into the ruling party.

The defection marks a significant political shift in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections, as parties continue to position themselves for emerging alliances and contests.
