Arsenal sense Premier League glory as Spurs eye safety

Arsenal moved closer to ending their 22-year wait for a Premier League title as the Gunners prepare for a crucial clash against struggling West Ham on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently five points clear of defending champions Manchester City, who still have a game in hand, after City’s costly 3-3 draw against Everton earlier this week.

Arsenal’s recent resurgence has strengthened belief around the club following consecutive league victories and their midweek 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid, which secured a place in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners face West Ham at the London Stadium knowing victory would significantly boost their title hopes with only Burnley and Crystal Palace left to play afterward.

Despite West Ham’s poor record against Arsenal at home, the Hammers remain desperate for points in their relegation battle.

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry warned against premature celebrations, describing the trip to West Ham as a potentially difficult fixture.

“I always thought that City might drop points against Everton and my worry was West Ham away,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“So I’m going to stay in my lane and not celebrate too early because nothing is done.”

Elsewhere, Tottenham host Leeds United on Monday in a key relegation battle.

Spurs, now under manager Roberto De Zerbi, have picked up seven points from their last three matches to climb to 17th place, one point above West Ham.

De Zerbi, however, insisted the club was not yet safe from relegation despite signs of improvement.

“We can’t forget what was the situation before Wolverhampton,” he told TNT Sports.

“Before Wolverhampton it was a very sad situation and these memories have to stay in our head every day.”

A victory over Leeds, combined with dropped points for West Ham, could move Tottenham closer to survival.

Leeds, meanwhile, know a win would guarantee their Premier League status.

Chelsea will also look to halt their poor league form when they face Liverpool on Saturday.

The Blues have suffered six consecutive Premier League defeats and have scored just once in their last six league games, leaving their hopes of Champions League qualification hanging by a thread.

Liverpool, under Arne Slot, are pushing to secure a top-four finish and will be favourites heading into the clash at Anfield.
