‘You can’t do nothing’ — Umar Sani tackles Wike over PDP meeting venue crisis

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of using government machinery to intimidate political opponents amid the lingering leadership crisis within the party.

Sani made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, where he dismissed what he described as attempts to frustrate meetings held by rival factions in the PDP.

According to him, members of his faction remain unshaken despite alleged efforts to disrupt their activities.

“He knows where we have been holding meetings. He knows the place, and he has not sealed it off yet. He can’t,” Sani said.

The PDP chieftain alleged that Wike had consistently deployed similar tactics in the past whenever meetings not aligned with his political interests were scheduled.

“Even when Damagum was the chairman, anytime we were going to hold a meeting that he was not satisfied with, he would seal the National Secretariat and claim we had not paid ground rent or tenement rate,” he stated.

Sani described the alleged actions as intimidation tactics and insisted that his group remained the legitimate leadership bloc within the opposition party.

“We are not bothered. He knows we have been holding NEC meetings. So he can’t do nothing,” he added.

He further claimed that his faction was awaiting the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the recent Supreme Court judgment, which he said would shape the next phase of the PDP leadership battle.

“What he’s trying now is the last kick of a dying horse because he knows we are now the legitimate people,” Sani said.
