DSS quizzes Adeleke campaign spokesman over alleged abuse of Oyetola, Wole Oke

The spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has confirmed that he honoured an invitation by the Department of State Services following a petition filed against him by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olajengbesi disclosed that the petition accused him of verbally abusing the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and a federal lawmaker, Wole Oke.

In a statement shared via his Facebook page, the Accord Party chieftain said he appeared at the DSS office in Osogbo, where he presented his position on the allegations.

According to him, “I honoured the invitation of the DSS over a petition reportedly sponsored by Wole Oke. I made it clear that while individuals have the right to file complaints, I stand by my comments regarding the performance of the former administration in Osun State.”

He maintained that his criticism of Oyetola was based on what he described as the former governor’s failure to meet the expectations of the people, adding that he considers it a legitimate part of democratic engagement.

Speaking further on Wole Oke, Olajengbesi argued that as a representative of Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, the lawmaker should be open to scrutiny after over two decades in office.

“It is not out of place to ask questions and demand accountability after 24 years of representation. The people deserve answers and a new direction,” he said.

The campaign spokesman, however, noted that the DSS did not find any criminal element in his statements and advised all parties involved to exercise restraint.

He commended the security agency for what he described as professionalism and neutrality in handling the matter.

Olajengbesi reiterated his resolve to continue speaking on political issues affecting Osun State, insisting that he would not be intimidated by the petition.
