The Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in a statement, conveyed Adeleke’s position, noting that the administration’s performance across key sectors has earned it the trust and endorsement of the electorate, making the re-election bid a natural progression.
Adeleke made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing leaders of the transport management system at the Government House, where he dismissed opposition claims and criticisms as baseless, insisting that the people of Osun have resolved not to return to what he termed “the dark days” of previous administrations.
The governor, who was accompanied by popular music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, highlighted achievements recorded in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and the digital economy, maintaining that his administration has delivered tangible dividends of democracy across all regions of the state.
He accused the opposition of attempting to destabilise his government through alleged financial manipulation, particularly at the local government level, but assured that such efforts would not succeed.
According to him, “The people are our witnesses. They have seen the transformation across sectors and have consistently affirmed our performance over the past four years. Those who claim otherwise will have the people to contend with.”
Adeleke further alleged that funds meant for local governments were mismanaged by opposition elements, expressing confidence that those responsible would eventually face justice.
In his remarks, Davido urged residents of the state to support the governor’s re-election bid, stating that continuity would be in the best interest of Osun State.
“My uncle has delivered, and I encourage everyone to mobilise support for him. His re-election is important for the continued progress of the state,” he said.
Also speaking, Chairman of the motorcyclists’ wing of the transport management system, Sikirulahi Ayobami, commended the governor’s developmental strides, noting that members of the association have benefited from various initiatives of the administration.
He pledged the group’s continued support, describing its members as active campaigners for the governor across the state.
