His emergence followed a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday, April 28, in Katsina, where party leaders unanimously adopted him as the sole candidate for the ticket.
Chairman of the Consensus Committee for Daura Zone and former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Ahmed Dangiwa, announced the decision, describing it as a move aimed at strengthening party unity and cohesion in the zone.
Reacting, the APC Chairman in Mai’adua Local Government Area, Mannir Musa, urged party members to accept the outcome in good faith and remain committed to the party’s progress.
He also appealed to Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State to extend support to aspirants who did not secure tickets, encouraging them to continue contributing to the development of their communities.
Musa further charged candidates who emerged through the consensus arrangement to prioritise effective representation and service delivery if elected.
Other candidates adopted during the process include Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial seat and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly.
In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari expressed appreciation to party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to provide quality representation to his constituents if elected.
