Ex-Oyo LG chairman joins Reps race, donates APC secretariat

A former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area in Oyo State, Kehinde Olaosebikan, has declared his intention to contest the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olaosebikan made the declaration on Monday during the party’s weekly meeting in the local government, where he also donated a new secretariat to the APC.

The former council boss, who once served as Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Lam Adesina, said he had begun mobilising support across party lines for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

According to him, Nigerians would back Tinubu based on reforms introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I have consistently supported this administration, and I am committed to working towards a resounding victory for President Tinubu in this constituency,” he said.

On his House of Representatives ambition, Olaosebikan expressed confidence in securing broad-based support, claiming that members of other political parties had pledged to back him if he emerges as the APC candidate.

“Members of other political parties in Oluyole Local Government are already assuring me that if the APC gives me the ticket, they will mobilise their members not only for my election but for all APC candidates,” he stated.

Speaking on the donation of the party secretariat, he said the facility was necessary to strengthen party activities at the grassroots.

“With this more spacious and befitting place, our youths and women can conveniently hold meetings and coordinate activities,” he said.

Olaosebikan also outlined his legislative priorities, including constituency development, education support, youth empowerment through skills acquisition, job creation, and assistance for indigent students and women.

The event, which attracted party faithful and stakeholders, was presided over by the APC chairman in the local government, Dotun Oladipupo, alongside other party leaders.
