Ataoja’s Endorsement Boosts Adeleke’s Re-election Momentum in Osun

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has described the recent commendation of Governor Ademola Adeleke by the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, as a strong validation of the administration’s infrastructural achievements in Osogbo and a reinforcement of the governor’s re-election bid.

Spokesperson of the council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a statement on Sunday, said the monarch’s open endorsement reflects the reality of development being witnessed across the state capital. “We are deeply honored by this candid assessment of the Adeleke administration, which reinforces what is already well known within Osun State and beyond. Governor Adeleke has delivered and deserves to be re-elected,” he said.

Olajengbesi noted that Osogbo has, in nearly four years, experienced significant infrastructural transformation, including the construction of bridges and dual carriageways befitting its status as a state capital. He added that the administration’s deliberate focus on modernization has enhanced both the social and economic outlook of the city.

The council, however, took a swipe at the immediate past administration led by Gboyega Oyetola, accusing it of neglecting critical projects in Osogbo due to what it described as “toxic politics.” It alleged that key initiatives such as the East-West Bypass (Ona Baba Ona) and the Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila-Odo-Kwara boundary road were abandoned during that period.

According to the statement, the Adeleke administration has since revived and completed some of the abandoned projects, including the East-West Bypass, while the Osogbo-Ikirun 10.5km road has been completed and commissioned. Work, it said, is ongoing on the remaining stretch from Ikirun through Ila-Odo to the Kwara boundary.

The council further disclosed that the second phase of road projects has been flagged off, alongside new infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity within Osogbo and beyond.

It also assured residents that ongoing projects, including the remodelling of the Osogbo stadium and the proposed dualisation of the Old Garage to Ilesa Garage road, would be completed, stressing that the administration remains committed to delivering more legacy projects.

While appreciating the Ataoja for what it described as placing development above politics, the council urged residents of Osun State to support continuity in governance.

It warned against what it termed attempts to return the state to an era of “neglect, hardship, and stalled development,” insisting that the future of Osun lies in sustaining the current pace of progress.

The statement expressed confidence that the electorate would renew Adeleke’s mandate for another term, citing what it described as his commitment to improving lives and expanding opportunities across the state.
