EPL: Don’t forget quality that brought you here — Vieira warns Arsenal in title race

Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has urged the Gunners to stay grounded and remember the qualities that have carried them to the top end of the Premier League table as the title race intensifies.

Mikel Arteta’s side briefly lost top spot to Manchester City, who moved ahead on goal difference after a 1–0 win over Burnley on Wednesday.

Speaking on Arsenal’s website, Vieira said the team must not lose sight of what has powered their strong season so far.

“I think I just want them (Arsenal) to remind themselves where they are and why they are where they are. Meaning that they are at the top of the league, they are in the semi-final of the Champions League, and you can’t reach that level with no quality, with no team spirit and with no togetherness,” Vieira said.

He added that Arsenal’s final push in the title race will depend on maintaining confidence in their identity and strengths.

“When we are in the last sprint, I will say it, it’s important not to forget the quality that brings them where they are today because that will help them to win,” he added.
