Osun 2026: Adeleke Unveils 52-Member Imole Campaign Council, Picks Adeoti to Lead Inter-Party Relations

 

The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, will on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, inaugurate a 52-member Imole Campaign Council as part of intensified preparations for the August 15, 2026 governorship election in the state.

The council, known as the Imole Campaign Council 2026 (TICC), is the apex strategic body of the governor’s re-election bid and is expected to drive coordination, strategy, mobilisation and overall campaign direction across Osun State.

Officials say the council is designed to provide “visionary leadership, strategic direction and integrated coordination” across all campaign structures, ensuring a unified and disciplined political machinery ahead of the election.

The 52-member team is made up of politicians, professionals and grassroots mobilisers drawn from across the state. It will be chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Osun State University, Prof. Wale Ladipo, while Senate Minority Leader, Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi, will serve as Director General.

Barrister Kolapo Alimi has been named Deputy Director General, while Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi will act as Spokesperson. Hon. Prince Bola Ajao is to serve as Secretary of the council.

In the campaign structure, Rep. Bamidele Salam, who represents Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, will head the Media and Publicity Committee.

Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, has been appointed to oversee Inter-Party Relations, a role expected to deepen engagement with political stakeholders and opposition parties ahead of the poll.

The campaign organisation also includes 29 standing committees covering key operational areas of the re-election project.

At the federal constituency level, Imole Federal Constituency Campaign Committees will be constituted across the nine federal constituencies, drawing membership from party executives, lawmakers, commissioners and political appointees.

Similarly, Local Government Campaign Committees will operate across all 30 local government areas and the area office, while Ward Campaign Committees will function in all 332 wards across the state.

Political observers say the early unveiling of the council underscores a structured and strategic approach by the Adeleke campaign, with emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, coordination and message control ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The inauguration is expected to mark the formal commencement of intensified political activities across Osun State.
