Osun 2026: AMBO Campaign Slams Salam Over ‘Baseless’ Attack on Oke

The AMBO Campaign Organisation on Thursday knocked a member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam, over his criticism of its Director-General, Oluwole Oke, describing the attack as unfounded and politically motivated.

In a statement issued in Osogbo, the campaign organisation said Salam’s comments reflected panic and desperation amid what it described as the growing strength of its movement across Osun State.

The Senior Media Aide to Oke, Omolebi Segun Sunday Tunde, who signed the statement, said it was unfortunate that a serving lawmaker would make what he termed unsubstantiated allegations against the campaign’s director-general.

“The attack on Honourable Oluwole Oke is baseless and clearly driven by fear. It is unfortunate that a serving member of the House of Representatives would descend so low as to peddle unfounded insinuations against a man whose track record of service and competence is widely acknowledged,” he said.

The group described Oke as a seasoned legislator and grassroots mobiliser, noting that his appointment as Director-General of the campaign was based on his experience and capacity.

It added that Salam’s remarks only exposed concerns within the opposition over the increasing acceptance of the AMBO campaign.

“The attempt to discredit Hon. Oke only exposes the fear of the growing strength, structure and acceptance of our campaign,” the statement read.

The organisation further stated that no amount of criticism would undermine Oke’s reputation or derail its efforts to secure victory for its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

It urged Salam to focus on addressing issues within his constituency rather than engaging in what it described as unnecessary attacks.

“The people of Osun are discerning and can distinguish between proven leadership and empty rhetoric,” the statement added.

The AMBO Campaign Organisation reaffirmed its confidence in Oke, saying he remains committed to delivering victory for the party in the forthcoming governorship election.
