The meeting comes amid growing speculation that Mohammed is preparing to exit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the ruling APC.
A source within the National Assembly, who requested anonymity, told journalists that the lawmakers were invited on a “special consultation” to discuss the evolving political dynamics in Bauchi State and across Nigeria.
Addressing the press during the meeting, the source said,
“We are here today as members of the National Assembly to meet with our governor and leader. The discussion focused on the ongoing realignment in Nigeria, particularly in our state. We have reached a positive conclusion and, in a short while, we will make our position known to the public.”
Observers say the outcome of the meeting could reshape the political landscape in Bauchi, as the governor’s defection may trigger a wave of shifts within the state’s political elite.
