Easter at Work: Otedola, Dangote Hail Tinubu’s Commitment to Economic Reforms

Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for remaining engaged in state matters during the Easter holiday, describing the President’s decision to work on Easter Sunday as a strong demonstration of commitment to national development.

Otedola spoke after visiting the President at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos alongside Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, where discussions centred on the economy and the impact of ongoing government reforms on Nigerians.

In a post shared on his X handle on Monday, Otedola said the meeting focused on practical ways the current economic reforms could deliver greater benefits to citizens.

According to him, “Yesterday, I spent Easter Sunday with our dear President, Bola Tinubu, and my bestie Aliko Dangote. We discussed the economy and how Nigerians can benefit from the reforms.”

He added that the President’s work ethic on a major Christian celebration reflected unusual dedication to governance.

“On a day of resurrection and renewal, Mr President was still working. That kind of commitment gives you hope for Nigeria,” Otedola stated.

The meeting came amid a series of consultations between the President and leading figures in the private sector as the administration continues to push economic recovery measures.

Also on Sunday, Tinubu received Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, who visited to extend Eid-el-Fitr greetings and birthday wishes to the President, who turned 74 on March 29.

Rabiu, after the meeting, told State House correspondents that his visit was largely ceremonial but also offered an opportunity to discuss national development issues.

President Tinubu is currently in Lagos for the Easter break after inaugurating Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport in Iperu, Ogun State, on Saturday.

Before arriving Lagos, the President had also visited Jos, where he met families affected by the recent Palm Sunday killings in parts of Plateau State.

The visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the Presidency to engage critical stakeholders across security, economic and humanitarian fronts during the holiday period.
