A political group, “Like Minds,” in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has intensified support for the governorship ambition of Bashir Bolarinwa ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group made the call on Friday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ganmo, where party loyalists and community leaders from the 18 wards in the council area endorsed his potential candidacy.
Speaking at the gathering, the group’s chairman in Ifelodun, Bayo Ige, described the meeting as a movement focused on shaping the future of the state, noting that Bolarinwa’s support was driven by merit rather than inducement.
“His support is not built on money or manipulation, but on merit and consistency. He has inspired and impacted lives through decades of dedicated service,” Ige said.
He added that Bolarinwa’s experience across different levels of governance positions him to effectively connect grassroots realities with policymaking.
The group also credited the former lawmaker with playing a significant role in the 2019 “Otooge” political movement, which reshaped Kwara’s political landscape.
While commending Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for sustaining the gains of the transition, the group said the next phase of leadership should consolidate existing achievements in the state.
