Speaking in Abuja, Modibbo Farakwai, president of the movement, said the group had met all constitutional and statutory requirements for registration but had yet to receive approval from INEC.
According to him, the delay is not administrative but politically motivated, alleging that established political interests are uncomfortable with the growing support base of the movement across the country.
Farakwai stated that Team New Nigeria has continued to strengthen its internal structures and nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, unveiling several strategic committees to coordinate political engagement, policy development and grassroots activities.
He listed the newly inaugurated bodies to include the National Political Engagement Committee, Nationwide Reliability Network Committee, National Policy and Intellectual Engagement Committee, as well as the National Conference Organising Committee.
He also announced mobilisation directorates for women, youths, students and persons living with disabilities.
The TNN leader claimed that the movement currently commands support from about 43 million Nigerians and warned that failure to secure registration would not stop its political ambition.
According to him, the group is already in advanced talks with existing political parties and may contest under another platform if INEC continues to delay approval.
He stressed that the movement remains open to coalition arrangements, provided such alliances align with its vision of justice, equity and competent leadership.
Farakwai added that Team New Nigeria is determined to participate actively in the 2027 elections, whether as a registered party or through a broader political coalition.
