Oke camp replies critics, labels anonymous attack desperate political outburst

The camp of Oluwole Oke on Friday reacted sharply to an anonymous publication titled “The Wolf Inside Osun APC,” describing it as a politically motivated attack aimed at discrediting the federal lawmaker.

In a statement issued by Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, Senior Media Aide to the lawmaker, the media office said the publication was the handiwork of a frustrated political actor allegedly seeking relevance within Osun State politics.

The statement maintained that the write-up lacked facts and amounted to a desperate attempt to diminish Oke’s political influence, insisting that his record of service and visibility in public office remain intact despite repeated criticisms.

According to the statement, several previous attempts to raise controversies around Oke and his associates had failed to affect his standing among supporters and constituents.

The camp also rejected attempts to draw respected leaders of the All Progressives Congress into the dispute, naming Bisi Akande and Gboyega Oyetola as leaders whose political judgment could not be influenced by what it described as propaganda.

Defending Oke’s long stay in elective office, the statement argued that his continued electoral success reflected the will of the people, noting that the constitution does not place limits on congressional terms.

It also dismissed allegations of corruption against the lawmaker, saying previous scrutiny by anti-graft agencies did not establish any wrongdoing.

The statement expressed confidence that whoever emerges as candidate of the APC would prevail in future political contests, while also backing Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15 election.

The media office concluded that Oke remains a formidable force in the political landscape, despite attacks from unnamed opponents.
