Iyamu made the declaration days after resigning from his position, at an event held at the APC Secretariat in Oredo Local Government Area, attended by key party leaders.
Speaking at the gathering, Iyamu dismissed claims that he was new to the party, stating that he has been a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2016.
“I have been in this party since 2016, supporting it with all I have,” he said, highlighting his involvement in past election campaigns and party-building efforts.
He pointed to his grassroots empowerment programmes, particularly for women and youths, as evidence of his connection with constituents.
“Since 2019, I have sustained women empowerment initiatives across wards, including monthly support schemes. The results are visible,” he added.
Iyamu also rejected allegations that he lacks support at the ward level, describing such claims as false and politically motivated.
He expressed confidence in securing victory, saying, “The people have shown confidence in me, and by the grace of God, victory is assured.”
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Oredo LGA, Dr. Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe, called for unity within the party, describing Iyamu as a loyal member and urging stakeholders to avoid internal divisions ahead of the elections.
