Eid-el-Fitr: Speaker Abbas Congratulates Muslims, Attributes National Unity to Prayers
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas, has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, noting that their sacrifices and prayers will benefit the nation’s future.
In a Sallah message issued on Thursday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Musa Krishi, Abbas described God’s mercy as vital in helping Nigeria navigate socio-economic, security, and political challenges.
“Divine intervention, through prayers, remains a major reason for the country’s unity, peace, and stability,” he said, urging Muslims to continue practising piety, selflessness, charity, and other virtues of Ramadan. He stressed that Nigerians cannot reduce their prayers for a better society and nation.
The Speaker added: “Alhamdulillah, we have witnessed the Holy Month of Ramadan peacefully, and today, we are bidding farewell to one of the most critical aspects of the life of every Muslim. May Allah accept all our acts of ibadah and reward us abundantly.”
Abbas also noted the concurrent observance of Lent by Christians, calling it a divine arrangement encouraging shared devotion and unity. “It is a reminder that we are one people united by a common good,” he said.
He concluded by wishing Muslims happy celebrations and prayed for the acceptance of their worship and prayers during the Holy Month.
