Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Oluwole Oke, has extended educational support to students in the nine government technical colleges across Osun State by paying their school fees and underwriting examination costs for final-year students of Government Technical College Ijeda/Ijebu-Jesa.

In a statement signed by Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, Senior Media Aide to the lawmaker, it was disclosed that the intervention also covers external examinations required for graduating students, including those conducted by National Business and Technical Examinations Board, diploma examinations and trade test certifications.

Tunde said the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on students and their families while encouraging sustained interest in technical and vocational education, which he described as essential to economic growth and youth self-reliance.

According to him, more than one thousand students across the state’s technical colleges are expected to benefit from the intervention, which he noted would enable beneficiaries to concentrate on their academic and practical training without financial distraction.

He added that technical education remains a strategic tool for national development because it equips young people with employable skills and strengthens entrepreneurship capacity.

Management, staff and students of the affected colleges were said to have welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and supportive of ongoing efforts to strengthen confidence in technical education.

The statement added that the lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to programmes that advance education, skills acquisition and youth development within the constituency and across Osun State.
