President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has elevated Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari to the position of Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
The appointment was announced on Thursday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Masari, a close political ally of the President, previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, a position he held since 2023.
Before joining the presidency, the Katsina-born politician served as Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the tenure of former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
Masari is widely regarded within the ruling party as a grassroots mobiliser and seasoned political organiser with strong political networks across northern Nigeria.
With his elevation to Special Adviser, Masari is expected to strengthen political coordination within the administration and work alongside Yau Darazo, who was earlier appointed Special Adviser on Political Affairs by President Tinubu in July 2023.
