The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), moving the tournament from March to July.
CAF announced the decision in a statement published on its official website on Thursday.
The competition was initially scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026, but will now hold from July 25 to August 16, 2026.
According to CAF, the adjustment was made to ensure the successful organisation of the tournament, citing unforeseen circumstances that necessitated the change.
Morocco will still host the competition despite the shift in dates.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons are the defending champions, having won the last edition of the tournament, which was also staged in Morocco.
