A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on councillors elected on the party’s platform in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State to intensify grassroots mobilisation as preparations gather momentum for the 2026 governorship election.
Oyintiloye gave the charge during a strategic meeting held with the councillors in Obokun on Thursday, where party stakeholders reviewed political structures and mapped out strategies aimed at strengthening the APC’s presence at the ward level.
The meeting, which had in attendance councillors from all wards in the local government, focused on consolidating party unity, improving coordination, and enhancing engagement with grassroots supporters ahead of the August 8 governorship poll.
Speaking at the session, Oyintiloye emphasised the need for discipline, unity, and sustained interaction with constituents, noting that the party’s electoral strength lies in its grassroots structures.
“We must remain disciplined and united as we prepare for the 2026 governorship election. Our strength is rooted in ward-level participation and consistent engagement with the people,” he said.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the councillors resolved to prioritise cohesion, effective communication, and continuous mobilisation across their respective wards.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to responsible leadership and pledged to work collaboratively with other party stakeholders to advance development-oriented policies and secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming election.
The councillors further expressed determination to deepen collaboration within party structures as part of efforts to reposition the APC for success in the 2026 Osun governorship contest scheduled for August 8.
