Agbakoba Tells Arise News Anchor: I’m Not Here for Cross-Examination

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, has expressed displeasure at what he described as aggressive questioning by Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni.

Speaking on Arise Television, Agbakoba firmly told the anchor that he was not on the programme to be cross-examined. He emphasised that his appearance was not a court proceeding and would only address issues relevant to the topic under discussion.

“Before you start, let me make this clear, Rufai. I am not here to be cross-examined. I do not accept that,” Agbakoba said. “I will not answer questions outside the topic. I am not in a court, so please, do not cross-examine me. Any question that offends me, I will not respond to.”

Agbakoba’s remarks came amid growing tension during the live discussion, as he sought to steer the conversation strictly to the matters at hand.
