The National Treasurer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mani Ahmad, has stated that the outcomes of the recent FCT Area Council elections and the bye-elections in Kano and Rivers States should not be seen as a forecast for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Ahmad reacted to the elections in which the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won five Area Councils in the FCT and cleared the bye-elections in Rivers and Kano States, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured Gwagwalada Area Council.
“If anybody expects that the results of these elections in the FCT, Rivers, and Kano would be our scorecard and that nothing will change in 2027, then they will be in for a big surprise,” Ahmad said.
He added that the party is making “significant efforts to unite the front team, integrate experienced individuals, and develop a clear strategy for winning future elections,” emphasizing that the ADC and its members remain fully committed to achieving electoral success in 2027.
