Security operatives have successfully repelled an attempted bandits’ attack on Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, according to a report by Patriotic Insights News.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening when suspected armed bandits reportedly stormed the community, causing panic among residents and forcing many to seek safety.
Sources said a joint team of security forces swiftly confronted the attackers, leading to a fierce gun duel that lasted for about one hour. The operatives were said to have overpowered the assailants and forced them to retreat.
Security sources described the response as coordinated and effective, noting that the quick intervention prevented the attackers from gaining control of any part of the town.
As of the time of filing this report, there were no officially confirmed reports of deaths or abductions. Authorities are said to be maintaining surveillance in and around the area, while residents remain watchful.
