2027: Be Ready to Protect Your Mandate at the Polls — Peter Obi Urges Nigerians

Former presidential candidate and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and prepared to safeguard their votes in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the outcome of the 2023 poll must not be repeated.

Obi made the call in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during a mobilisation meeting with supporters and members of the Obidient Movement. His remarks were conveyed in a statement issued by the Movement’s National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko.

According to him, the movement must now evolve beyond enthusiasm and emotional support into a well-organized and strategic political force capable of securing victory at the polls.

He stressed that the focus going forward should be on building solid structures and coordinated strategies across the country.

“The time has come to move from passion to structure, from structure to strategy, and from strategy to victory,” he said.

Obi warned that irregularities witnessed in the 2023 presidential election should not be allowed to occur again, insisting that citizens must take responsibility for ensuring that their votes are properly counted.

“We will not allow a repeat of what happened in the 2023 election,” he stated. “In 2027, votes must count. Nigerians should be ready to defend their mandate through lawful and peaceful means.”

He also encouraged supporters in Akwa Ibom State and beyond to remain committed and hopeful, noting that sustained organization and participation would be critical to achieving electoral success in 2027.
