Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assured residents of Apomu and adjoining communities that the Ikire–Apomu–Ikoyi road will be dualised as part of his administration’s infrastructure development drive.
Adeleke gave the assurance on Saturday while speaking at the 2026 Apomu Day celebration, where he reiterated his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and grassroots-focused projects across the state.
Addressing community leaders, indigenes and guests at the event, the governor said improving road connectivity remains a top priority of his administration, noting that better transport networks would stimulate economic activities and enhance social development.
He stressed that his government is determined to link major towns and rural communities through quality road projects, adding that the planned dualisation of the Ikire–Apomu–Ikoyi corridor would boost movement of goods and services in the area.
The governor urged residents to continue supporting his administration’s programmes and policies, assuring them that more people-oriented projects would be delivered across Osun State.
Adeleke also commended the people of Apomu for sustaining the annual cultural celebration, describing it as a platform for unity, heritage promotion and community development.
